Your gift can leave a legacy
When you are thinking of preparing a will, often you will consider your loved ones. But often people will find a place in their will to leave a legacy, allowing others to be touched by your generosity.
How to leave a gift in your will
If you are considering leaving a gift to Ambulance Wish Queensland in your will, simply add a clause to your will mentioned your intended gift or add a codicil to an existing will.
The wording
'I (insert name here) bequeath to Ambulance Wish Queensland for its general purposes [Choose and insert the appropriate statement from the list below].
- the whole of my estate
- (insert number) percentage of my estate
- the residue of my estate
- the amount of $ (insert the value of your gift in cash)
- my (insert name of asset)
- free of all duties, and the receipt of the Secretary or other authorised officer for the time being shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the Executor(s)’
If you use a solicitor, you can ask them to include similar wording as above.
